Responsibilities:
- Understands the safety policies approved by VCCH and secures the implementation and application of policies. Supports working safely with auditing current processes and making recommendations and taking appropriate actions to secure a safe work environment and deliver safety improvements. Follows requirements for accident/ injury reporting.
- Understands key environmental aspects of the area and actively manages, controls, reports issues.
- Ensure effective employee relations, provide employee coaching, development, direction. Lead decisions and resolve employment issues through problem resolution. Request support or escalate as required.
- Actively develops Team Leaders in BIB, Standard Work, 5S, RTM, QPS, problem solving to develop and secure the highest level performance of the team.
- Provides coaching and training for Team Members in their respective roles to perform at the highest level. Actively audits team member’s performance for adherence to standard work and written job standards.
- Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve department and plant KPIs in all areas. Analyze performance and report according to the defined schedule.
- Understand the vision state. Learn, lead/participate in the lean transformation of Logistics. Gain flow knowledge and recommend/implement key lean principles to improve MP&L performance.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to manager, provide leadership to team, perform accident investigation and submit appropriate reports.
- Track employee performance for key employment matters – attendance, performance, policy adherence. Respond accordingly to any deficiencies.
- Manage departmental priorities, including defined QDFIPS. Perform RTM for responsible area and display in area for transparent and real time management of daily deliverables.
- Maintain proper inventory levels. Investigate, resolve and report issues impacting inventory accuracy and/or the proper movement of materials.
- Communicate and role model the Volvo Cars’ values and company philosophy.
- Be responsible for the planning and implementation of Volvo Car Manufacturing System for team and work areas.
