The Industrial Engineer, Automation is responsible for initiating changes to ensure the continuous improvement and optimization of our production methods, considering the human, economic and technical aspects of our organization. The tasks related to the role of Industrial Engineer can be diverse and require initiative, originality, creativity, and an excellent ability to lead teams to achieve the expected results. The incumbent has strong ability in project management and proven experience in manufacturing process automation.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Member of OIQ – an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and industrial engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing projects
- Proven experience in managing the implementation of new manufacturing equipment, automation, and plant layout modifications.
Responsibilities:
- Work at optimizing production and assist in solving technical and operational problems.
- Evaluate current manufacturing practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Anticipate future needs and make recommendations to the team on future improvements to be implemented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Lean manufacturing principles.
- Provide training and support to staff on new processes and procedures.
- Participate in the implementation of New Manufacturing Equipment/automation:
- Participate in the selection of new machines and suppliers
- Create business cases for new manufacturing equipment
- Design layout and setup manufacturing workflow
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
- Participate in the production ramp-up planning
Plant Layout Modification:
- Analyze current plant layout and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement new plant layouts to optimize production flow and efficiency.
- Ensure that all modifications comply with safety and regulatory standards.
