Insitu has an immediate need for an Industrial Engineer to support the production team in Bingen, WA. In this role you will be developing, implementing and evaluating processes to optimize operational efficiency. The responsibilities will include:
- Lead the application of Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing.
- Lead the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
- Lead in the application of extensive industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product design teams, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.
- Leads the research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of advanced Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
- Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and directs the use of project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation).
- Ensures project is completed within budget, and on schedule.
- Complete planning activities such as time studies, production facility layout design, capital expenditure evaluation, and production metric development.
- Utilize a strong understanding of integration activities like implementation of standard work, material kitting, metric tracking, and process improvement to advance manufacturing methods.
- Leads the use of engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities,
- personnel, materials, equipment) in the manufacturing and testing of products.
- Leads the analysis and design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, factory layout).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 9+ years of Engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree of Science; or 7+ years of Engineering with a Master’s degree.
- Previous experience working as an Industrial Engineer in a production environment, experience in unmanned aircraft a strong plus.
- Previous experience in a lead capacity, strong plus.
Ability to work onsite 50-75% in Bingen, WA
