About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and production facilities. Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization. Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for assisting plants on machinery layout, product flow, identifying and removing bottlenecks, and efficiency throughput improvements
- Attend training sessions with our different vendors and build a training program for our local maintenance team
- Work with locations to ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place and fully functional. Help to identify training and development needs for maintenance function in all plants
- Assist plants to optimize their production capabilities. Provide production management assistance when required
- Assist division and corporate IT personnel on interface of the main business management computer system, with key production equipment or production functions
- Oversee energy conservation process. Identify and implement projects and programs to reduce utility cost across division. Monitor and report on energy consumption levels
- Responsible for assisting plants in the gathering, archiving, and updating of equipment drawings and OEM manuals
- Make recommendations as to technical solutions to decision-making process
- Available to travel to various locations, as needed
- Assures all tasks are performed in a safe manner, and comply with all company, local, state, and federal requirements
- Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
- Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
- Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- Strong proficiency in CAD software for designing and drafting 2D and 3D models
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties, and engineering principles
- Ability to interpret project briefs and meet with clients, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements
- Capability to make necessary modifications to CAD drawings based on feedback and project needs
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of industry developments, trends and experiences related to manufacturing of products or product components
- Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for designing, building and managing the manufacture of new products
- Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for the design of new products and the enhancement of existing products; ability to apply the methodology in diverse scenarios
- Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for manufacturing new or enhancing existing products
- Knowledge and associated ability to apply technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention
- Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Works in an office environment with frequent time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
- Frequent travel required, up to 50%
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
