We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer- Senior to join our team primarily onsite in Rocky Mount, NC.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Intermediate level relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

  • Leading Work Studies : By leading work studies for new and current production lines, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement and ensure efficient operations.
  • Standardizing Work Methods : Leading the development and implementation of standard work methods will enhance consistency and quality across production lines.
  • Ensuring Safety and Goals : Leading projects to create and implement manufacturing processes will ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
  • Improving Equipment and Processes : Applying your knowledge of manufacturing principles to improve equipment and processes will drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintaining and Developing Standards : Ensuring the application of Cummins standards and developing new manufacturing standards will uphold high-quality production practices.
  • Influencing Stakeholders : Leading communications with and influencing key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members will ensure alignment and support for projects.
  • Collaborating on Projects : Working with internal and external resources on specific project assignments will foster collaboration and successful project outcomes.
  • Coaching and Knowledge Sharing : Maintaining relationships and coaching key stakeholders will support their development and ensure the application of advanced manufacturing principles and practices.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

  • Process Layout - Creates and/or modifies an optimized manufacturing process by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, sequences of production steps, and facilities requirements in order to reduce process time and waste.
  • Work Measurement - Quantifies and evaluates the elements of work that make up a process by breaking it down into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize process flows.

  • Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Continuous Process Improvement - Recognizes areas in which a process can be improved by properly implementing process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce process cost and improve quality in current manufacturing processes.
  • Drawing Interpretation - Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.
  • Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role is primarily onsite based out of the Rocky Mount plant. Candidate must reside in Rocky Mount, NC.
  • ECR,ER: Review and introducing changes per product requirements.
  • 3Dx Implementation: MCR, PFMEA, Process Planning, Line simulation module implementation.
  • PFMEA- Update/review per new product needs.
  • Process readiness for new products: Design, plan, implement changes to RMEP assembly line.
