We are looking for an enthusiastic Industrial Janitor to join our team! This position will be responsible for keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties by operating a scissor lift and manual/powered handling equipment to wash walls and floors. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of the need for repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience
• Ability to be certified in Scissor Lift and Fall Arrest
• Ability to be certified in Working at Heights
• Forklift license and WHMIS training would be an asset
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Must be physically fit and able to operate heavy equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets would be an advantage

• Follow assigned cleaning schedule to clean the facility
• Clean facility using equipment such as a scissor lift to clean walls and rafters.
• Use manual or powered equipment to dust, sweep, vacuum, scrub, disinfect
• Clean facility equipment
• Wear required PPE, respirator, safety glasses, gloves and shoes
• Identify and communicate potential needs for repairs, safety or maintenance issues to supervisors
• Support maintenance department as required
