Industrial Maintenance Technician (1st shift)

Bastian Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain Exotec equipment on-site at a client in Belleville, Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in automation, robotics, or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting material handling equipment.
• Skypod maintenance experience a plus.
• Proven experience utilizing voltmeters to troubleshoot electrical and controls issues.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems relevant to robotics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to automation and material handling systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for reporting, documentation, and interaction with other team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and components (up to 75 lbs).
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

• Skypod System Maintenance:
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on Skypod system components, including robots, conveyors, electrical and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues affecting Skypod functionality.
• Execute corrective maintenance activities in a timely manner to restore system performance.
• Collaborate with vendors or internal and external service providers for specialized repairs or parts replacement.
• Material Handling Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on conveyors, and other material handling equipment.
• Identify and address mechanical, electrical, and control system issues impacting equipment performance.
• Execute repairs, adjustments, and replacements of faulty components to ensure optimal functionality.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while conducting maintenance activities.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations related to Skypod and material handling systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and local regulations.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Generate reports detailing equipment performance, downtime incidents, and maintenance tasks completed.
• Communicate maintenance status and requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the Skypod and material handling systems.
• Recommend upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to optimize system performance.
• Training and Development:
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in material handling systems.
• Provide training to other maintenance staff or operations personnel on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
