Description:

AMG, Inc. is an employee owned AS9100:D certified manufacturer headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. We are looking to add an additional Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of related experience with industrial electrical and controls maintenance and a Journeyman Electrician License. Industrial HVAC experience is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply.)

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, safety rules, electrical schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility.
  • Complies with all quality and safety policies, specifications, regulations and Implementation of electrical safety guidelines and procedures to ensure electrical work is compliant with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E and Company safety regulations.
  • Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers.
  • Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances.
  • Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. Citizen.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Experience using mobile equipment (Forklift. Lull, Man Lift, Scissor Lift).
  • Experience troubleshooting, proposing solutions.
  • Experience with electrical reliability, and mechanical skills preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of industrial NEC Codes and relevant Electrical Safety Procedures.
  • Experience with low/medium voltage equipment.
