JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Journeyman Millwright to focus on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing stationary industrial machinery, mechanical systems and mechanical equipment. The Journeyman Millwright reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
This is a full-time position, with rotating 12hr shifts, with a proposed hourly pay range of $52.30.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School level reading, writing and mathematical skills
  • Journeyman certificate as a Millwright required; interprovincial red seal considered an asset.
  • Forklift certificate required – Internal training available
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
    Excellent time management and multitasking skills

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches or verbal instruction and accomplish these assignments with the maximum efficiency.
  • Operate mobile material handling equipment to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Competently and safely inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing plant machinery, equipment, systems, building and physical structures.
  • Competently and safely use all tools and operate all machine tools such as lathes and grinders for the efficient overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of Company property.
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Create work orders in the computer maintenance management system (CMMS) for all work 10 minutes or longer.
  • Close out the work orders (or provide maintenance planner and supervisor feedback) and any further work to be done.
  • Capable of providing training, instruction and direction to apprentices or helpers assigned to the Millwrights during the course of their duties.
  • Must know and keep updated with all national, provincial, and local codes as they affect repair, maintenance, safety, construction and dismantling of machinery, equipment and structures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Work proactively to continuously improve plant mechanical performance. Make recommendations for improvement to Maintenance supervisor, planner, and manager.
  • Work with other classifications of employees in emergency situations, plant shut down periods, and in times when machinery is not operating to perform all necessary maintenance related activities to get equipment and machinery back into operation in minimum time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
