Join Alstom as an experienced Industrial Quality Engineer on the Perth Metronet Project. You will be based at Nowergup Maintenance Depot in Perth WA, on a 24 month max term engagment.
Reporting to our Project Quality Manager while responsible for ensuring the Maintenance processes are followed, activities are carried out based on procedures and relevant specifications and ensures that relevant records are produced on time and accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring products are compliant to Engineering specifications and Design requirements.
  • Developing and deploying processes, tools & quality standards.
  • Managing Quality activities related to digital tools: GSI, QES & AOS, PST & SQP.
  • Performing Quality activities related to car history book and configuration (Traceability, configuration, Change implementation…).
  • Conducting Workstation audits, ensure follow-up & management of relevant action plans.
  • Managing the metrology activity and monitor external provider of calibration.
  • Leading the resolution of K1/K2 defects through 8D Methodologies, follow-up of actions.
  • Animating Quality Performances as a visual control (KPI’s, Quality Alerts, Best Practices, Demerits, etc)
  • Performing inspections of products and participate in joint Customer Inspection.
  • Maintaining inspections records per component, assembly, and vehicle, & perform follow-up on any open points.
  • Managing NCRs for non-conforming products of internal responsibility. Execute QRQC as required for major faults.
  • Performing first characterization of Supplier NCRs.
  • Accepting or rejecting products and services in reference to the Work Instructions / Expert’s advice.

About You: We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual who is passionate about problem solving and product quality. You will also have;

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent experience.
  • Communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence.
  • Experience in raising Non-conformance reports (NCR) and managing Non-conforming products.
  • Proven experience in modern manufacturing techniques, ERP system, data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management System.
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control in Rail, Defence, Aviation, Mining, Manufacturing or a similar heavy industry.
