JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • CIPD - Essential
  • Experience within a unionized environment – Essential.
  • Proven experience working in Employee Relations or a similar HR role, preferably in a large organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex employee relations issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to HR Business Partners and Managers on employee/ industrial relations matters & effective practices, including conflict resolution.
  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with Trade Unions and their representatives.
  • Engage in collective bargaining with union representatives to negotiate and implement collective agreements.
  • Ensure that both management and the union adhere to the terms outlined in the collective agreement, including grievance procedures, disciplinary actions, and work rules.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proactively identify and address potential employee relations issues, conducting trend analysis and recommending strategies for improvement.
  • Partner with HR leadership and other stakeholders to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with internal communication teams to ensure effective communication of employee relations policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Resolving & mitigating complex/critical employee relations issues in a timely & effective manner.
