Description:

This position is your chance to be a Health and Safety advisor to our clients’ industrial site in Ayrshire. Communication is absolutely key, as you’ll be working across all departments, with stakeholders of all levels to ensure and influence the safety of our clients team.
You’ll be working in teams a lot of the time, but also need to work on your own initiative to apply specialist skills in resolving safety issues.
You’ll be ensuring that appropriate programmes are in place to monitor compliance with company and regulatory expectations, drive performance improvement and provide health and safety advice to support client functions. The role will also involve devising and running safety improvement campaigns, reporting on health and safety performance and taking personal ownership for driving safety improvements across the client site.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
Liaising with the internal/external regulator and other applicable external bodies on safety matters
Evaluating and reporting on compliance with legal and company/site safety requirements
Engaging with fleet safety branch as a key stakeholder in the revision or production of industrial safety standards or guidelines for company wide application
Participating within the Health and Safety Advisor Peer Group network in the development and implementation of fleet-wide continuous improvement initiatives
and sharing of good practice
Participating in and supporting the activities of the station safety committees
Providing safety advice and managing the station asbestos register
We are looking for an engaging, proactive individual with good communication skills. A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.
An individual with a minimum of HNC qualification in a technical discipline and relevant industry experience may also be considered. A NEBOSH certificate would be required as part of induction to the role.
