POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager Industry Partnerships - Seneca Works, the incumbent plays a critical role in establishing and nurturing partnerships in targeted markets to showcase Seneca Polytechnic student capabilities. Their responsibilities encompass outreach, program-specific company development, job opportunity identification, and onboarding employers according to Seneca’s recruiting best practices. Collaborating with the WIL and Career-Ready Programing teams, the incumbent strategically employs market development techniques to identify opportunities for students and graduates, supporting business development with ecosystem partners. Additionally, they oversee Seneca/Employer communication, ensure clarity of processes, aid in securing funding opportunities for student hires, manage the employer database, and meet job development targets, all while upholding Seneca’s duty of care through thorough vetting of employers and positions on the Seneca Works Portal.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum three (3) year Diploma/Degree in Human Resources, Career Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field. If in another field, please state how it relates.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, or Marketing, preferably within a post-secondary environment.
  • Knowledge of occupations, industries, labor market trends and job search strategies.
  • Expertise using contact management/database systems considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with job posting systems, employer vetting requirements and technology.

SKILLS

  • Excellent organization, time management, communication, relationship-building, problem- solving, persuasiveness, perseverance, initiative, and creativity.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Capable of working independently and maintaining a high level of organization for resource and documentation management.
  • Ability to manage and cultivate existing relationships is a crucial aspect of the role.
