Lead Nurse Infection Control
Part-Time 16 hours
Ramsay Fitzwilliam Peterborough has an exciting opportunity for an Infection prevention and Control Lead Nurse to join our experienced and dynamic team.
You may be a part time IPCN who is looking for an additional part time role or you may be a current link nurse who is looking for the next step in your development.
Our immaculate hospital has a full multi-disciplinary team onsite, practice advanced treatments and offer everything from screening through to leading-edge surgical procedures in specialist fields like, orthopaedic and general surgery delivered through our expert and caring clinical teams.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and development of a quality infection prevention and control service providing leadership, support and guidance to all staff
- Delivering on the ANTT accreditation strategy
- Delivering ANNT training as well as IPC induction
- The post holder will demonstrate a high level of autonomy to challenge inappropriate practice and must demonstrate clinical decision-making to assist in containing and reducing the incidence of infection through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, intervention and education.
- Responsible for providing advice to patients, visitors and staff across the organisation. This will include the provision of education and training to all grades of staff, and empowering staff to facilitate the prevention and control of infection.
- Inputting data to PHE and local datix reporting systems
- Writing the annual infection control plan
- Completing thermatic reviews for individual or clusters of infections
What you’ll bring with you
- Current NMC registration
- At least 30 credits at level 5 or 6 in modules relevant to Infection Prevention and Control Practice or recognised Infection Prevention and Control qualification/willingness to undertake - essential
- A teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent - desirable
