Description:
Key Responsibilities: 1. Infection Control Program Development: o Develop and implement comprehensive infection prevention and control programs specific to theatre environments. o Establish and update infection control policies and procedures based on current guidelines and industry best practices. 2.
Training and Education: o Conduct regular training sessions for staff on infection prevention protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). o Educate staff on the importance of hygiene practices, including hand hygiene wound management and respiratory etiquette. 3. Risk Assessment and Surveillance: o Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential infection hazards within the theatre.
o Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of infection control measures through regular audit and surveillance activities. o Monitor and evaluate any post operative complications relating to wound healing 4. Cleaning and Disinfection: o Oversee the cleaning and disinfection protocols for all theatre areas. o Ensure the use of approved disinfectants and cleaning agents in compliance with health regulations.
5. Outbreak Management: o Develop and implement outbreak response plans to address potential infectious disease incidents. o Coordinate with public health authorities and internal teams to manage and control outbreaks effectively. 6.
Compliance and Reporting: o Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national infection control regulations and guidelines. o Maintain accurate records of infection control activities and prepare regular reports as required. o Will actively drive the IPC group and associated activities
