We’re seeking a registered nurse to join our Infection Prevention & Control team! As a Certified Infection Preventionist, you will be an important asset to the team by collecting data related to infection prevention at our hospital, assist in creating and generating reports, and facilitate compliance with relation to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree, required. Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license or medical technologist, required.
  • Certification in Infection Control or Epidemiology, preferred. Required within 2.5 years if not certified.
  • Minimum of three years relevant experience preferred.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

  • Facilitate compliance with regulatory agencies and assist with local and state public health inspections.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze data related to infection prevention, including device days, patient days, and more. Assist in data entry, maintenance of databases, and generating reports.
  • Research, compile, and update infection prevention standards and policies.
  • Develop and provide educational programs tailored to different audiences, focusing on healthcare-associated infections, communicable diseases, and infection prevention practices.
