Description:
The Island Health Division of Infectious Diseases - South Island seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated adult infectious diseases consultant to join a group of seven.
We are a rapidly growing division of seven physicians based in Victoria. In the South Island, we provide services to 2 tertiary care hospitals and one community hospital which include surgical sub specialties such as orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, urology and all medical sub specialties including BC Cancer agency. We have a well -functioning outpatient parenteral antibiotics therapy clinic (OPAT) at 2 sites and provide health support to the OPAT clinic in Duncan.
Community consultation practice options include the opportunity to join an existing practice or establish your own. HIV and Hepatitis B and C practices are run through our community offices. An affiliation with the University of British Columbia and the Island Medical Program, provides the opportunity to teach medical students and residents. There are opportunities for hospital based or outpatient clinical research as well.
Applicants should have experience in acute care consultation and management of adult infectious diseases in a tertiary hospital setting.
