ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced nursing professional to join our team as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Coordinator. You will bring a strong clinical background, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional care in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Qualifications: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work autonomously and within a team; adept at managing priorities under minimal supervision; creative, flexible, and innovative in clinical practice.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of full-time post-registration experience, with demonstrated competence in nursing practice and experience in mentoring and leading others.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and quality improvement systems in healthcare; awareness of contemporary nursing and healthcare issues.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Practice Consultant, Level 3, to join our team as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Nurse Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert nursing care and support to patients living with IBD, serving as the primary point of contact for them, their families, General Practitioners, and other referring doctors. As a trusted facilitator and triage officer, you will offer guidance and expertise to both patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standard of care within and beyond the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). Additionally, you will play a key role in advancing clinical and research programs, including therapeutic trials, to drive better outcomes for this patient population.
The IBD Nurse Coordinator will also champion the coordination of care across primary and hospital-based specialists within a Shared Care, multidisciplinary model of best practice. By proactively identifying and addressing disease flares with early out-of-hospital interventions, you will reduce inpatient admissions and improve the overall health and wellbeing of patients. Your contributions will enhance the management of this chronic condition, fostering a more seamless and effective care journey for individuals and their families.
