POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Radiation Therapy Manager, The Informatics Specialist - Radiation Therapy serves as a liaison between the clinical programs, IT, HIM and other partners to educate, promote and influence the development of Mosaiq, integration with EPIC and data capture in radiation therapy. The Informatics Specialist - Radiation Therapy accurately and promptly analyzes, prioritizes and “translates” user needs and requests related to the clinical information system, integrates solutions with hospital wide CIS and influences workflows for successful implementation while acting as a partner for education.
The Informatics Specialist - Radiation Therapy will have primary and supportive responsibilities to ensure accurate workload capture through process development as well as auditing and validation of data. Leads in meeting regional data reporting requirements of Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario). Works closely with partners inside and outside organization to solve issues and challenges. Takes a leadership role in championing innovative models to meet the needs of program and facilitates communication amongst large groups, while working collaboratively and directly with the technical experts and/or vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

" Undergraduate Degree in a related field from a recognized university (required);
" Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) (required);
" Masters degree or working toward (preferred);
" Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (preferred);
" 1-3 years leadership experience (ability to influence decisions, manage deliverable, meet times and work with competing priorities) (required);
" 3-5 years experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of radiation therapy clinical practice (required);
" 1-3 years experience/knowledge in business, health admin, information technology (preferred);
" Strong computer skills including Microsoft office, Mosiaq and EPIC (required);
" Software configuration and customization (preferred);
" Expert radiation therapy knowledge, skills (required);
" Process improvement experience (required);
" Working knowledge of OH-CCO data book requirements for ALR data (preferred);
" Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) (required);
" Must have satisfactory performance record;

Responsibilities:

o Provide MOSAIQ software configuration, administration, customization, updating and applications support for clinical users
o Configure MOSAIQ software for use in system automation, data collection and reporting
o Analysis, design, development and implementation of electronic workflows utilizing MOSAIQ for efficient radiation therapy
o Ensures systemic integration of data shared between EPIC and MOSAIQ, all related software applications and promote intuitive flow of information
o Applies understanding of clinical information, data requirements and workflow models to advance use of applications
o Provides application and technical consulting services to internal and external stakeholders
o Troubleshoot and resolve application issues working closely with local IT and regional EPIC team as needed
o Liaise with vendors to resolve application issues
o Works collaboratively and contributes to projects involving CIS and MOSAIQ; including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
o Mitigates risks associated with projects and timelines, and performs continuous re-evaluation to determine necessary course corrections
o Leads and participates in continuous process improvement to integrate software and hardware
o Works with stakeholders at all levels within DRCC and its partners and with external organizations to achieve goals and deliverables through facilitation and effective communication for each project/initiative
o Provides guidance and support to designated project teams
o Uses various change and transition strategies to manage organizational initiatives
o Coaches various stakeholders through the change process by using effective communication and identifying the effects of change
o Utilizes various communication strategies that are timely, consistent and appropriate for the audience, including frontline staff, management, physicians, senior leadership and external community partners to facilitate consensus, consult, negotiate and share information
o Fosters an environment that encourages open and honest communication
o Creates venues for collaboration and exchange of ideas among stakeholder participants
o Participates in the development of communication, sustainability and knowledge transfer plans
o Develop education and training material outlining how to navigate and use application
o Instruct and guide superuser team on how to use the functions of the application and troubleshoot problems to accomplish their work and tasks
o Provides guidance and assistance in the use of applications to frontline clinicians with functional questions
o Verify data requirements from both internal and external reporting
o Integrate data requirements into clinical documentation to ensure high compliance, reliability and accuracy
o Assist in correcting data entry errors to allow for accurate & timely reporting
o Works in collaboration with internal shareholders to resolve Health Records EHR errors
