EDUCATION:

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field such Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Working directly with Cloud-based data, data fabrics, data lakes, etc.
  • Working in an information or data management field including research, analysis, and information or data life cycle management.
  • Performing statistical data analysis and data management, including running queries, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis.
  • Performing Database Analysis, working with Dataverse, SQL, Cosmos DB, etc.
  • Performing data integration-related tasks.
  • Creating data visualizations (charts, graphs, and dashboards) to convey complex information to interested parties.
  • Monitoring and reviewing database information, conducting data audits and reviewing and editing content to ensure data integrity.
  • Supporting information management and/or data management solutions by applying relevant information management and records management standards and principles.
  • Applying document and records management concepts such as metadata, taxonomies, and retention policies.
  • Interpreting policies, directives, and guidance in the areas of Information Management, Data Management, Information Privacy, Information Security, and providing respective advice and guidance to business lines.
  • Providing service to clients in an information or data management field.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Data Governance, Data Quality Management and Information and Data Security principles
  • Research theory and methodology, data analysis models and techniques, data interpretation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Information and data management best practices
  • Process and procedure development
  • Government of Canada policies and directives in the areas of Information Management, Information Privacy, Information Security and Open Government would be a strong asset.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Data Architecture principles / Experience in Data Architecture development.
  • Experience managing SharePoint sites and libraries (SharePoint Online preferred).
  • Experience with development of streamlined processes with M365 applications and Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Experience integrating and working with machine learning elements to derive insights from data.

Responsibilities:

You will be part of a new Information and Data Management team tasked with managing and supporting a variety of processes including measuring and monitoring information and data lifecycles and ensuring conformance to governance standards and compliance programs. Team members will be expected to act as subject matter experts regarding information and data management issues and communicate best practices to CNSC employees.
You will be an integral contributor to the CNSC’s digital transformation, helping to build and maintain the CNSC’s data fabric while operationally supporting this data in the long-term through consultations, and application of standards and expertise to maintain high data quality. These responsibilities extend to developing supporting processes, procedures, and metrics. You will be expected to interpret, summarize, create and maintain statistical data files, including writing reports and creating dashboards on trends and analysis. Your skills will make you an integral contributor to building, implementing, and monitoring a robust information and data management program at the CNSC.
