Description:

Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people, too.
Our people are what makes Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work. We’re a team of over 9,000 people with a purpose to deliver one of life’s essentials. We do it all while thriving in our unique culture and making a lasting difference to our planet, society, and careers.

IF YOU WANT TO DO MORE BECAUSE YOU CARE, WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU. THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE HERE.

At Severn Trent we operate an established, rigorous and robust governance framework encompassing our approach to risk management, compliance and assurance. As a public service and regulated entity, our framework is designed to ensure transparency, as we balance the needs of our customers and compliance with regulatory obligations.
We are looking for an Information Compliance Officer (12 month fixed-term contract) to join our compliance team, located within our General Counsel directorate. This role provides an exciting opportunity to learn more about our business operations in an area that we know matters most to our customers and is also of significant interest to the media.
The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provide public access to environmental information held by public authorities. These Regulations give people a right of access to information about the activities of public authorities that relate to or affect the environment.
We receive a large number of Environmental Information Requests from various external sources, who are looking to obtain data to support their interests, relating to a wide variety of activities.
Want to know more? If so, read on.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

  • Build a strong stakeholder network with Business Leads, Strategic Leads and Severn Trent Executive Committee (STEC) to ensure a consistent and high quality standard approach is applied across all business areas and to ensure we fulfil our regulatory requirements on time.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end process, ensuring a customer centric approach is applied throughout and work with senior stakeholders to craft the narrative for all customer responses.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to further enhance the process, streamlining the business engagement and customer response process with a focus on autonomy and ownership across different business areas.
  • Provide monthly reports to Senior Management and STEC to highlight trends and opportunities for improvement
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels across the organisation

Responsibilities:

We’ll be looking for you to ideally have a knowledge of water or utilities Regulations along with the ability to analyse data and then produce and present its findings. Having the capability of building effective stakeholder relationships and real willingness to learn would be required.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care.
