NHS Professionals has a unique opportunity for an energetic self-starter with meticulous attention to detail and ambition to either start or develop their career as an Information Governance Officer.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Risk & Information Governance Manager and working within the Risk & IG Team, the Information Governance Officer is responsible for the delivery of specialist Information Governance (IG) advice and supporting with the delivery of the IG agenda across the organisation. Raising awareness of Information Governance and providing educational and specialist IG advice to all departments.
This person will also collaborate with the Risk & IG Team on the organisation’s information governance programme, including delivery of the requirements of NHS Digital’s Data Security and Protection Toolkit and ISO27001. Key to success in the role will be the development and maintenance of key working relationships across all areas of the business in relation to the risk and information governance agenda.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

  • Supporting the Risk & IG Lead on the day-to-day management of formal information access requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI requests)
  • Supporting the management of the investigation process into potential and actual data breach incidents
  • Assisting the Risk & IG Lead with administrative aspects of the Data Protection Impact Assessment process, including liaising with internal/external stakeholders
  • Working with the Risk & IG Lead on managing data subject rights requests, ensuring compliance to the legal timeframes
  • Collaborating with the Risk & IG Lead on ensuring data protection compliance across the organisation through IG auditing of internal departments/stakeholders
  • Supporting the Risk and IG Team with management and responses to incoming issues and requests to data protection inboxes
  • Co-ordinate and provide administrative support within the Risk & IG Team to ensure delivery of the IG agenda across the organisation, including compiling and drafting reports on IG outcomes
