JOB SUMMARY

Are you passionate about data security and information governance? Join our team as an Information Governance Officer and play a key role in ensuring data protection and confidentiality across our Trust. Based at Priorswood in Taunton, you’ll work alongside our Information Governance Manager to maintain our compliance with data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act, UK GDPR, and other key legislation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Support & Compliance: Aid in managing the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and oversee compliance with the Data Protection Act, GDPR, and Freedom of Information Act.
  • Risk Management: Manage data breach incidents, data protection impact assessments, and maintain the Information Asset Register.
  • Training & Guidance: Coordinate data protection training sessions, and provide advice on data security best practices to staff and third-party vendors.
  • Information Sharing: Facilitate secure information sharing and support our staff with any data access and confidentiality issues.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate reports, analyse data, and contribute to audits and assessments.
