The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for protecting our organization’s information systems and data from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing security measures to safeguard our digital assets. Position requires an individual with the ability to create, interpret, and apply policy, make decisions regarding what the organization will do in relation to the scope of the department, and exercise discretion about significant matters.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least four years of college or technical training in computer science or information technologies.
- Proven experience as an Information Security Analyst or similar role.
- Effective interpersonal and communications (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
- Effective project management skills and the ability to proactively problem solve.
- Flexible work schedule to provide support/complete assigned projects (e.g., upgrades, installations) during non-business hours.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+) are a plus.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and handle a high volume of work with multiple interruptions.
- Capacity to learn quickly and comprehend highly technical detailed information.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
- Professional demeanor and interaction with all customers (internal and external).
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with internal policies and procedures. Understand and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations affecting our institution.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, incidents, suspicious emails reported by employees to identify potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems and processes.
- Investigate and respond to security breaches and incidents.
- Maintain and update security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Meet established standards and guidelines with regard to compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, customer service, and overall performance
- Maintain customer confidence by providing ongoing quality service and keeping all files and information confidential.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with internal policies and procedures. Understand and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations affecting our institution.
