Description:

Reporting to the Head of Energy Markets, the IT & Data Management Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of IT services and support across multiple sites. The successful candidate will lead information and operation technology strategy for PowerON, implement network solutions to manage EV charging infrastructure and electrical systems, ensure PowerON’s IT/OT systems maintain the highest level of cybersecurity, and develop and implement data management strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in IT management.
  • Experience managing vendors.
  • Ability to drive front line troubleshooting.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies, including networks, servers, operating systems, databases, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions to complex IT challenges.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance, security, and reliability.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Fortigate firewalls, and Cisco and Siemens Rugged Comms switches
  • Experience with Microsoft Eco-System (Azure, Office 365, Dynamics)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the configuration and management of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, network switches, systems, firewalls, and software applications.
  • Oversee configuration of servers with virtualization and troubleshooting of application issues (Syslog)
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs and requirements.
  • Manage applicable vendors, including budget management
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, solutions, and strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations and data management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to IT security, privacy, and data protection.
  • Troubleshooting network cabling and physical network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and physical replacement of defective network hardware and/or their sub-components (power modules, expansion modules etc.)
  • Remote access configuration and troubleshooting (VPN configuration, authentication and account set up - SSO/MFA, related security services)
  • Remote monitoring & troubleshooting of network infrastructure, lifecycle management including servers, VMs, switches, firewalls and other critical devices.
  • Manage the back up and restoration plans for the various sites and keeping of configuration and historical back-ups.
  • Application performance monitoring.
  • Upgrading firmware and software versions for firewalls, anti-virus software, anti-malware software, switches.
  • Operating system (windows) and general server application maintenance support.
  • Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Support internal management of IT services required for operations. (IT vendor management, internal security best practices, Office 365 etc).
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and developments in the IT field, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
