Description:
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for leading a team of technical staff, guiding our technology roadmap and staying on top of the latest industry trends and technologies which relate to network and server infrastructure, strategy, architecture, and service delivery standards. This position is responsible for the management of client/vendor relations, infrastructure design, implementation, support, and maintenance. While managing all departmental projects, the manager also leads large-scale business impacting initiatives and acts as an escalation point for complex issues of the IT staff. Included in the scope of this position is financial management consisting of the design, allocation, and justification of the department’s operating budget and the submission of capital project requests and the management of the approved budgets thereafter.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical degree or diploma with IT related discipline.
- Systems Administration certification is required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ technical experience, 3 years’ managerial experience and 3 years’ experience in the design and implementation of company-wide computer systems or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Virtualization certification or 5 years equivalent experience is an asset.
- Networking certification or 5 years equivalent experience is an asset.
- COMP TIA A+ certification is an asset.
- ITIL certification is an asset.
- Experience with Xplor Recreation, Marina Tek, Mindbody Online is an asset.
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC hardware, Windows OS and various audio/video equipment.
- Excellent technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Experience leading IT programs of large scale and complexity that have multiple project delivery components.
- Experience with IT strategic planning, implementation and technology transformation and modernization programs.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, and procedural documentation.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and stay on top of new market trends.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Employment Type: Regular Full-time (35 hours per week).
Work Schedule: This role is eligible to work a 9-day fortnight compressed work week and hybrid working model. *Must be flexible in order to meet the operational needs of the Oval. This may include evenings and weekends.
Salary and Benefits: $106,002 - $132,503 (+oncall premium) per annum (Dependent on experience and qualifications). Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers and maintains Windows servers, enterprise network infrastructure, hyper-converged infrastructure, Exchange servers, file servers, domain controllers, Microsoft 365/Teams/Sharepoint environment, etc.
- Lead and manage a range of projects related to innovation, technology, and business processes.
- Manage and maintain the integrity and cybersecurity of the Oval’s network and server infrastructure.
- Responsible for the architecture, design, build, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
- Mentors and develops the IT team and is the expert in IT to the Oval.
- Oversees the development of contracts and service agreements and the evaluation, selection and procurement of products and services from vendors.
- Initiates and promotes cross functional working relationships with other departments heads, Oval staff and vendors to ensure deliverables are met.
- Reviews IT requests and requirements from Oval staff and makes recommendations on solutions, while considering the value proposition, business needs and technological solutions available.
- Responsible for all computer and audio-visual equipment, ensures setup and configuration meets requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring complex technological solutions are understood by the Oval users and clients.
- Researches, develops and implements industry best-practices, IT operating procedures, and policies.
- Responsible for development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOP) to provide consistent and standardized framework for delivering high-quality technical services to employees and users.
- Develops and enforces IT work plans, budgets, and effective time management in accordance with management guidelines.
- Preforms other related duties as required.
