    Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager to oversee and manage our IT Department.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As the Information Technology Manager, you will oversee and manage the software, hardware, systems, and integration of the various products that comprise the ANA Hotel’s information systems. Your primary focus will be on improving the utilization of these systems through liaison with management and monitoring of data input and output, ultimately enhancing our customer service.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs and maintains applications software and keep pace with upgrade versions.
  • Is responsible for the diagnosis and repair of LAN hardware devices, maintenance of bridges, gateways, modems and routers and the monitoring of performance with the network cabling.
  • Performs complete daily backup of all data for storage on site.
  • Is responsible for the safety, security and integrity of all hardware, software and data.
  • Maintains the strict use of password controls, ensuring that passwords are changed with regularity.
  • Is responsible for the monitoring of all system software and utilities and advising the Financial Controller of relevant issues arising from same.
  • Is responsible for the preparation of the Information Systems Department annual budget in line with the strategic plan.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of information to which he/she is privy and is aware that failure to comply with this requirement is considered a serious breach of hotel policy and may be grounds for summary dismissal.
  • Prepares and maintains Disaster Recovery contingency plans for possible emergency downtime situations and in the event of such, engage all necessary support functions as is deemed necessary to minimize disruption of hotel function.
  • Prepares and maintains a Strategic plan for the Information Systems Department and systems for the next 5 years.
  • Adheres to the hotel procedures relating to security and fire.
