JOB PURPOSE
Play a key role in the delivery of a 2-year, large-scale, multi-partner, strategic research culture enhancement project funded by Wellcome – InFrame Inclusive Framework for Collegial Research Leadership. Working within a cross-university partnership (Glasgow, Edinburgh & St Andrews), the post holders will support each partner university’s ambitions to foster a positive research culture. The role holder will support delivery of this project, and additionally share best practice in research culture enhancement for the development of a sector level approach. Working closely with the Research Culture Leads, Research culture communities and networks and project stakeholders across all three universities to ensure the seamless coordination of the project.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide robust project coordination to support the InFrame project delivery and the delivery of projects, funded through the InFrame Culture Catalyst Fund (CCF).
- Deliver excellent support to the InFrame CCF applicants in all aspects of project management including project timelines, project costings, and communication support. Develop local processes to support the projects and to reduce risk and ensure complementarity and cross-linking with university departments and the InFrame partners.
- Provide pre- and post- award coordination of research culture focused projects to align with the themes and underpinning principles of the delivery framework. This includes but is not limited to: EDI, collaboration, and positive recognition of good practice.
- Provide clear advice & guidance to projects funded by the InFrame initiative, the Culture Catalyst Fund, on project management approaches, funding criteria and timely delivery. Support Culture Catalyst projects through end to end project coordination to deliver within the scope of the InFrame project, managing & reporting on budgets and ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved within agreed timescales.5. Contribute to a comprehensive communications strategy via Project Board Meetings, digital materials, events, and other creative and social media, ensuring that the project’s mission is shared, understood and supported.
- Build and maintain active collaborative working relationships with all team members as part of a cross-university matrix team.
- Develop and maintain strong personal internal and external networks to access intelligence and good practice from internal departments such as finance and HR to ensure delivery of the project is aligned with the University’s and funders’ strategic aims and requirements.
- Working closely with the Project Manager and Finance Manager, maintain all project documentation and records to ensure data integrity. Provide management information and analysis to inform decision making. Identify project risks & opportunities, reporting to relevant stakeholders, and regularly update the progress of actions on behalf of team members and grant holders. Provide and coordinate contributions to status reports to stakeholders, including the funder.
- Proactively identify, undertake, and share opportunities for ongoing professional development, both for yourself and for colleagues in the Project Team
- Represent and champion the work and interests of the Project at meetings, external groups, conferences, and seminars to keep up to date with developments and gain and share across the team information/knowledge of best working practices in the higher education context.
- Perform other duties as requested, consistent with the grade level of the position and agreeing appropriate prioritisation of work with line management or other relevant stakeholders as needed.
