Summary:
As part of Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS), the mission of the ECS CAE Technology and Architecture team is to set up the ECS for the future by driving innovation, architectural best practices and industry standard concepts which will help drive SAP HANA adoption and scale as well as to provide Enterprise class cloud offerings for mission critical operations. The team is focusing on fast time-to-value at reduced cost and risk. The team is responsible for creating, consolidating, and driving the ECS architecture, automation and innovation roadmap across various teams under consideration of the overall SAP business target.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Infrastructure Architect to join our team and lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud solutions for SAP systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring our infrastructure is optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability within cloud environments to run SAP systems. As many of the projects go across team boundaries and countries strong networking, communication and coordination skills are required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Experienced IT system landscape architect with proven track record of leading complex architecture setups across distributed systems in the context of SAP Technology
  • Technical experience on ECS supported hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenStack). Certified OpenStack Administrator or Architect certifications are highly regarded.
  • Strong technical experience with SAP Applications and associated SAP Tools like Landscape Management (LaMa) and Focused Run (FRUN). Certifications for SAP systems are a plus.
  • Strong technical experience with end-to-end automation for provisioning and operating SAP system landscapes and their life cycle management
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM, and familiar with automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and automated integration and deployment of agile principles
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies like KVM and Kubernetes concepts and their practical applications. Certification or equivalent beneficial
  • Expert-level knowledge of Linux systems administration and networking principles, and ideally certified on RedHat or Suse Linux.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory, and German is a plus.
  • High degree of personal maturity, an orientation to goals and success, and an ability to work well with highly technical experts
