JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software design principles and a strong background in developing scalable and efficient software solutions. As a Software Architect, you will be responsible for guiding the technical direction of projects, ensuring that our software systems are robust, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Proven experience in architecture roles, with a focus on mission-critical legacy transformation projects in large-scale organizations.
· Strong background in Infrastructure solution architecture using cloud and data centre technologies, particularly Azure/Azure Stack Hub, with additional experience in AWS being preferred.
· Comprehensive knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud-hosted and data centre environments, EDA, Microservice Architecture, IaaC, and containerization technologies.
· Excellent API design skills and experience in building data applications and automated deployments.
· Previous experience in designing and delivering systems based on IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
· In-depth experience in agile environments, continual delivery techniques, and a strong dev-ops culture.
· Must be flexible to travel to London twice a week post-Covid.
· Leadership skills with the ability to set up a CoE, mentor junior team members, and drive innovation within the company.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across various teams and with clients.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement software architecture for various applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop APIs and integrate third-party services to enhance functionality.
  • Lead the development team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), providing guidance on best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application within the organisation.
  • Provide technical leadership in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to operating systems including Linux and Windows.
  • Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Architectural Leadership: Define and implement target architectures and roadmaps for transforming mission-critical legacy systems in large-scale organizations, focusing on modernization and efficiency.
· Solution Provisioning: Tackle complex issues arising in programs and projects, offering viable, innovative solutions that align with the client’s strategic goals.
· DevOps and Continuous Improvement: Review and improve DevOps practices to enhance the ways of working, ensuring a smooth, continuous delivery pipeline and a robust dev-ops culture.
· Cloud and Data Centre Expertise: Utilize your extensive experience in both cloud-hosted and data centre environments to architect and deploy scalable, resilient infrastructures, Cloud, H/W and Azure Stack Hub technologies, and containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
· Networking and Security: Apply in-depth experience in defining Non-Functional requirements and utilize expertise in CISCO firewalls to ensure robust, secure infrastructure solutions.
· API and Integration Mastery: Design and implement robust APIs and data applications using Azure, with a strong grasp on API design principles, interface documentation, protocols, data exchange methods, and automated deployments using Azure DevOps pipelines.
· Infrastructure as Code (IaaC): Apply hands-on experience in IaaC to manage and automate cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable and manageable cloud solutions.
· Agile and DevOps Culture: Promote an agile environment with a focus on continual delivery techniques and a strong dev-ops culture, while being flexible and ready to work hands-on in projects.
· Business Growth and Innovation: Support business growth by setting up a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Azure Stack Hub and Data Centre Infrastructure Architecture, hiring and mentoring junior members/apprentices, fostering a culture of innovation, and developing pre-sales and marketing content.
· Client Project Delivery: Deliver customer-specific projects with precision and a client-first approach, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
