SKILLSET

  • A dynamic and positive team player with a desire to want to get problems fixed
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an IT support team, managing support cases with awareness of common process such as change control.
  • Experienced in managing Windows Server and Linux operating systems (RHEL ideally)
  • Experience of working with at least one of AWS, Azure, GCP or VMware
  • Proven experience of Windows workloads and Microsoft Endpoint Manager, with Policies (Intune)
  • Knowledge of security, with extensive experience of firewall, AV, patch management and vulnerability management
  • Experience working with Firewalls and TCP/IP Networking
  • Management and use of monitoring and alerting platforms
  • Use of common backup and disaster recovery software
  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills, with certifications, sharing knowledge and mentor other technicians.
  • Great leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working in Agile teams being aware of Agile methodologies (using Scrum or Kanban)
  • Sonicwall or other next gen firewall infrastructure
  • Knowledge of SDWAN
  • Endpoint Security including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • AWS/Aure/GCP/VMware qualifications relevant to the role
  • Administrative management of MS SQL and database solutions

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly experienced infrastructure engineer to join Causeway’s IT team. You will be part of the support team, delivering support against live services, resolving incidents and requests within Causeway to meet current and future organisational needs. You will also support project initiatives delivering new technologies and upgrades to infrastructure as and when required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for using their knowledge of technology to enhance support and project processes, manage any alerts raised, be an escalation for triaged cases working with support systems to manage the resolution. Be part of the on-call support rota when ready, responding to escalated major incidents and supporting planned maintenance outside of core hours.
The role will report to the Head of Support Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the support teams to manage case workflow, operating at a 3rd line IT Support capability.
  • Manage tickets through to resolution, working with both internal colleagues and supplier support teams.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including IT management team and Engineering teams, providing updates on status, performance, changes, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document technical standards, and best practices and ensure alignment with IT strategies and objectives.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot infrastructure performance, security, and costs, utilising monitoring tools and logging frameworks (e.g. DataDog, Azure Monitor).
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management, data encryption, network security, and compliance with industry regulations and best practices (e.g. Cyber Essentials, CIS, ISO27001).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Review existing systems and processes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Contribute to the problem management process, continuing to mitigate root cause and the removal of repetitive processes.
