Description:

Location: Canada REMOTE
Term: Perm
High Tech Genesis is looking for an ideal candidate who possesses extensive experience in networking, VMware, Linux, Kubernetes, and storage technologies. This role focuses on implementing, automating, and maintaining lab environments to support testing, development, CI/CD, and software build activities.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Network:
  • Configure and manage network infrastructure within the lab environment.
  • Ensure robust connectivity and optimal performance across all lab systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Infrastructure Administration:
  • Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure the stability and security of virtualized environments.
  • Optimize VMware resources to support various testing and development needs.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications
  • Lab Operations:
  • Maintain and update lab documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to support their testing and development activities.
  • Ensure lab environments are secure, organized, and compliant with company policies.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to lab users.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve lab capabilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lab engineering or similar role
  • Strong expertise in networking
  • Proficient in VMware vSphere administration and management
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and command-line tools
  • Solid understanding of security principles and best practices
  • Experience with lights-out management tools for remote infrastructure management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with SAN and ISCSI Storage
  • Experience with UCS servers
  • In-lab experience with racking, cabling, configuring hardware
