Description:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange and/or SQL server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure)
  • Working knowledge of DevOps principals and technologies such as Terraform and Ansible, and scripting languages such as Python, YAML and PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of Agile, Kanban methodologies
  • Knowledge of Snowflake from an administrative perspective
  • Demonstrable experience working with technology stacks for compute, storage, virtualisation and network products preferable consisting of VMware, Cisco UCS, HP Nimble and Pure

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist in London. This role is initially for 6 months but there is potential to extend.
Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Specialist who will be implementing new infrastructure for our client within the financial sector. You will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing to launch efficient operational systems to support core organisation functions including all projects, continual service improvement. Our client is looking for someone to apply effective communication and resolve system issues to maximise the benefit for the IT environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the strategic design and implementation of the core infrastructure as well as own and manage service improvement plans
  • Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new services and enhancements to existing services
  • Promote releases across the environments through to production
  • Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving implementation decisions
  • Manage, build, support and maintain all server components within the environment
  • Work with internal and external project management teams on key projects and enhancements within the Infrastructure delivery team
  • Build environments, with a strong working knowledge of DevOps principals and technologies (IAC) such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Work with Architects to build environments bases on HLD Designs and other teams to ensure that we adhere to the required standards/patterns etc.
