Description:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant experience within a fast-paced production environment with experience operating at a Team Leader level
  • Knowledge and experience of plastics manufacturing distinct manufacturing (injection)
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively
  • Substantial exposure to safe working practises within an FMCG organisation (ideally packaging)
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

The Technician Team Leader will be responsible for the control and supervision of labour and to ensure that good quality products are manufactured efficiently and safely.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: (NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Ensure the issue of all paperwork relevant with the various products and to report any discrepancies immediately.
  • Maintain consistent delivery of line performance targets and objectives i.e. safety, volume, quality, cost, customer service, minimize downtime, and ensure effective handovers.
  • Motivate team to ensure consistent high standards, effective working relations and communication levels are achieved.
  • Deploy labour as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Production & Assembly operation, and give relative feedback to packaging operatives and technicians where necessary.
  • Coordinate shift cover were necessary
  • Monitor production plan and inform other departments
  • Ensure good accurate communication to Management/Coordinators and Planning team.
  • Continuing development of the people to achieve their maximum contribution to the process.
  • To report any substandard products and packaging to QC Inspector and Shift Coordinator
  • Record and monitor the efficiency of the all equipment and give appropriate feedback to the engineering department.
  • Ensure the Production plan is followed, all machines are run to agreed cycles, Production is kept inline with ALPLA specification
  • Ensure housekeeping is of the highest standard at all times.
  • Ensure that all duties are carried out, keeping good Health and Safety practice at the forefront of all day to day activities, doing department hazard walks and SBO audits.
