Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will take a leading role in managing workplace injury and illness by coordinating effective rehabilitation and return-to-work programs. Your focus will be on ensuring injured or unwell employees receive the support they need to recover and safely reintegrate into the workplace, while also driving health and wellbeing initiatives that embed a proactive approach to injury prevention.
Based out of our Head Office in Clayton support office, you will also spend time working across our branch network in Victoria and Tasmania.
You will be a trusted partner to our employees by assisting them in the holistic management of their health and wellbeing towards ultimate performance outcomes in life and work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
- Responding to all injury notifications and preparing and managing individual rehabilitation and return to work plans
- Managing all aspects of the workers compensation and personal injury / illness portfolios
- Consulting and liaising with all key stakeholders to implement effective prevention and early intervention risk strategies
- Providing pro-active solutions to overcoming health & capacity challenges
- Reviewing medical assessment results, consulting and advising HR on safe & productive job matches
- Implementing health and risk management programs including best practice ergonomics, reasonable workplace modifications and compliant health monitoring
- Maintaining statistics, reports and ensuring relevant policies and procedures comply with legislation
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
- Proven experience in injury management roles practicing a multidisciplinary approach within an evidence-based methodology
- Excellent knowledge of state Workers Compensation schemes and sound understanding of factors significant to premium management
- Results focused with a strong understanding of OHS and ergonomics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- HR qualification or injury management/health related discipline
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate desirable, but not essential
