ABOUT US

Traditionally, Britain’s energy system has been split into two areas – gas and electricity – but to ensure that Britain’s energy system is secure and affordable there needs to be co-ordination across the whole energy system, with one single entity responsible for translating policy into immediate strategy. National Energy System Operator (NESO) will bring unparalleled change.
Forge a path to a sustainable future for everyone.
Your energy, our future, together.

Responsibilities:

National Energy System Operator (NESO) is on a journey towards a sustainable and secure energy future. Together we build on this momentum, advancing the Electricity System Operator’s (ESO) plan for zero carbon operability of the electricity system by 2025.
We’re now looking for an Innovation Delivery Manager who will be responsible for delivery of the SIF (Strategic Innovation Fund) Beta phase of the Powering Wales Renewably (PWR) innovation project, which aims to create a digital twin of the Welsh energy system. Success in this role hinges on effective collaboration with teams across NESO, particularly those in DD&T, RESP, Connections and Flexibility, as well as engaging with project partners, and stakeholders in the broader sector (including industry and academia).
The Delivery Manager will be the first point of contact for the PWR project internally and externally (inc. with UKRI/Ofgem). They will lead, manage and motivate the project team, develop a comprehensive understanding of the PWR use cases and how they relate to RESP, Flexibility and Connections within NESO and wider partner organisations.
This role is responsible for managing the delivery of the project to time, cost and quality, and demonstrate adherence to SIF Governance and Funding Conditions. The Delivery Manager will identify and manage/resolve risks and issues on the project, liaising with Senior Management to escalate issues and remove blockers.
This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
