About the Department: The Private Networks Business Unit (Special Projects) at Ceragon Networks specializes in integrating our own products with partner products to create comprehensive tailor-made solutions for our customers. We focus on 4G, 5G, IoT, M2M, machine learning, automation, RF, networking, and virtualization technologies, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in telecommunications and networking to deliver seamless connectivity and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a small, dynamic team to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative projects within the lab.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and explore new technologies.
  • Conduct research to stay ahead of industry trends and advancements.
  • Participate in prototyping and testing new products and solutions related to wireless communication.
  • Take ownership of all Lab implementation commissioning aspects including equipment & processes, RAN, CORE, SERVERS, ROUTERS, etc.
  • Contribute to integrating Ceragon products with partner products to create tailored solutions for customers.
  • Executes system validation, feature testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT); Interoperability Testing (IOT), protocol testing, fault replication and troubleshooting involving working on multiple technologies such as LTE & 5G, point to point and point to multipoint wireless (WiFi, proprietary, mW and mmW).
  • Plan, create and execute feature testing procedures with requirement analysis, execution, and bug reporting.
  • Present solutions to customers both remotely and on site, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Analyze issues raised from the field, replicate them in the lab, provide solutions / workarounds for them or raise bug to the Software development teams of the different vendors to fix it.
  • Share findings and progress with senior management.
  • Support and mentor junior team members in innovative practices.
  • Assist in ensuring the innovation lab is equipped with the latest tools and technologies.
  • Contribute to driving continuous improvement in innovation processes and methodologies.
  • Support actual field deployment activity with system engineering team.
  • Willingness to travel abroad to engage with customers, partners, debug deployment issues or live systems and attend industry events as needed.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous, but courses and extensive experience in relevant technologies are considered equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in innovation or a similar role.
  • Experience in the telecommunications and networking industry.
  • Strong understanding of 4G, 5G, IoT, M2M, automation, RF, networking, virtualization, and other emerging wireless communication technologies – hands on experience required.
  • Good understanding (with hands on experience) of 3GPP specifications for 3G, 4G, 5G: protocol stack / layers, call flows, mobility management, cellular systems RAN & CORE, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Linux and Unix-like operating systems.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Published research or patents in relevant technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, and Bash.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication technologies, including 4G, 5G, IoT, M2M, machine learning, automation, RF, networking, and virtualization.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on technical roles with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Background in a lab or research environment is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing solutions related to wireless communication.
