Innovation Platform Manager - (240004ZX)
Description

Under the guidance and supervision of the VP of Innovation, the Innovation Platform Manager is a community builder and brand ambassador responsible for building and maintaining a platform of innovation programs and initiatives with a focus on fostering TGH’s internal culture of innovation and engaging with the external innovation ecosystem. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

  • Plans and executes events (virtual and in-person) focused on innovation, including workshops, networking events, employee innovation showcases, and collaborative brainstorming sessions.
  • Coordinates speaking engagements, blog posts, and media appearances for team members involved in TGH Innovation, emphasizing the importance of internal innovation.
  • Facilitates cross-departmental collaboration by organizing initiatives that promote teamwork and idea-sharing across TGH departments to identify innovative solutions to operational challenges and improve patient care.
  • Supports pilot initiatives for innovative concepts by overseeing small-scale projects that test new ideas within the healthcare system, managing the process from planning to implementation and evaluation to foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement at TGH.
  • Supports TGH Ventures’ portfolio companies by connecting them with opportunities with healthcare leaders, and strategic partnerships within TGH and the broader healthcare ecosystem through TGH Ventures.
  • Builds and supports internal innovation advisory initiatives to foster collaboration between external partners and TGH leadership.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to promote and support employee-driven ideas, helping teams turn innovative concepts into actionable solutions.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communication teams to build TGH innovation initiatives internally and externally.
  • Develops and leads new opportunities to enhance the TGH Innovation platform’s value for internal stakeholders and portfolio companies, increasing engagement with both internal innovators and external startups.
  • Uses data-driven insights to measure and report the impact of initiatives for both TGH Innovation and TGH Ventures, highlighting the success of internal projects and external collaborations.
  • Plans and executes annual TGH Innovation Week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing, healthcare administration, or other related field
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in innovation, program support or healthcare administration. An equivalent combination of education and years of experience may be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including team building, individual and group performance improvement and crucial conversation.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and healthcare industry generally, to identify areas for improvement, drive organizational change and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project and program methodologies, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of initiatives.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, including strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and professional backgrounds, ensuring programs are inclusive.
  • Strong organizational planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage high volume, time sensitive workloads.
  • Ability to navigate and influence within a dynamic healthcare environment, responding effectively to changing priorities and demands.
  • Have (or know how to build) a network of industry experts and community partners available for guidance or collaboration.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and solve complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
