Description:

Heritage Christian Online School is a thriving online learning community offering K-12 home and online education to students across the province. HCOS provides flexible solutions and programming tailored to every child’s learning journey.
HCOS is looking for an Innovations Assistant Director as we expand our Middle School offerings with new programming. This is a full-time , remote , permanent management position at 40 hours per week. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in managing the Innovations 5-12 Programming for HCOS. As a team, we aim to enhance our administration team to better support teachers, advisors, students, and families, ensuring a tailored and memorable learning experience for each student.
Duties and Responsibilities
Help develop and sustain a healthy school culture, in accordance with the HCOS Mission and Values and with the KCCS statement of faith.
Collaborate with the Innovations Program Director to manage school operations, plan events, and develop professional development opportunities for teachers.
Manage daily administrative tasks, including providing support for parents, students, and teachers, as well as LMS assistance for both HCOS and cross-enrolled students.
Provide general support and training for Innovations Program teachers, including developing teaching materials and maintaining program-related procedures.
Assist in planning and organizing key events such as the HCOS Grad Ceremony, Orientation Week, and Provincial Assessments, coordinating logistics as needed.
Oversee formal and informal reporting periods with the Innovations Program Director, providing feedback and support to teachers for enhanced reporting.
Help coordinate and plan for Ministry of Education evaluations and monitoring visits.
Assist in interviewing, hiring, and evaluating teachers, while providing oversight and support to the Innovations Advisor team.
Qualifications and Skills
Certified BC Teacher
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize workload and flexibility to manage multiple tasks to ensure scheduled deadlines are met
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook), Google Docs, Encom and Brightspace
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Competitive salary of $97,451 – $108,829 annually
A remote home office position
The approximate hours per week are 40, averaged over a 12 month period, and is subject to the policy for “Hours of Work Expectations for Management”.
Travel to meetings and conferences as required, approximately 12-15 working days a year.
