Opportunity:
Yamazen has an immediate opening for a technical support specialist. Based at our corporate headquarters office in Elk Grove Village, IL, the technical support specialist will support the outside sales team for Yamazens Tooling Division by communicating with our supplier base to identify suitable tooling, workholding, and accessories for a specific application. Through their knowledge and experience in cutting tool selection, workholding, and machine accessories implementation, our technical support specialist will solve engineering challenges on behalf of our sales team to drive our business forward.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Key point of contact for questions regarding machine accessories supported by the tooling division.
• Understanding of cutting tool selection to assist in finding alternate tools for an application.
• Regular communication with Yamazen Tooling Division suppliers to identify products, part numbers, pricing, availability and suitability for a given application.
• Maintaining price lists for machine accessories between the tooling and machinery division
• Building workholding and accessory kits that the tooling division can offer on machinery division proposals.
• Maintaining our contact list for our supplier base and notifying all appropriate parties of active marketing promotions and supplier price adjustments.
• Maintaining the tooling displays in our corporate showroom.
• Providing information to Yamazens marketing team related to tooling division suppliers.
• Assume responsibility for other related duties as required or assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years in machining industry in one of the following capacities: manufacturing process engineer, programmer, machinery or tooling sales, applications engineer.
• Strong technical understanding of CNC machine tools and related tooling / accessories
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Proficient MS Office suite, email, and CRM
• Highly productive and able to work independently, able to meet deadlines
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability
