Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilizing diverse data sources, accurately collecting, analyzing, and showcasing insights that transform the student experience into a realm of excellence, setting benchmarks among post-secondary peers.
- Embarking on a comprehensive journey through each student’s academic lifecycle, including diving deep into applications, admissions, conversions, retention, attrition, graduation metrics, time-to-completion to alumni triumphs, ensuring a holistic approach to student success.
- Crafting and delivering dynamic reports that unveil the diverse spectrum of student attributes, from academic and demographic profiles to socio-economic backgrounds. These reports also spotlight student achievements, covering GPA triumphs, course completion rates, retention, graduation milestones, and time-to-completion feats.
- Creating and executing reports to seamlessly boost enrollment management—tracking student headcounts, Full Load Equivalents (FLEs), application metrics, and conversion rates. Additionally, developing reports vital for academic affairs, overseeing program enrollment, course sections, and ensuring the quality assurance of our programs.
- Generating a diverse array of reports tailored for effortless interpretation and analysis across various audiences and users.
- Assisting in the development of comprehensive annual institutional reports, including the Academic Plan, Annual Report, and similar documents.
- Leveraging data visualization techniques to graphically communicate essential information to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborating with the Office of the Registrar and Information Technology to ensure the quality and integrity of data within the Student Information System (PowerCampus).
- Addressing internal and external ad hoc data requests promptly and effectively as they arise.
- Ensuring strict adherence to legislation and professional standards by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of data, results, and processes.
- Taking an active role in Keyano’s Data Governance Stewardship Committee, which champions the availability, sustainability, and security of all data owned or controlled by the College.
- Efficiently managing workload in alignment with project management timelines, skillfully prioritizing tasks across multiple projects for seamless execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate analytical discipline (such as sociology, business administration, computing, or accounting), with courses in statistics and/or research methodology
- Minimum of two years of related experience in a post-secondary environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SPSS, or other analytical software
- Sound numeric skills are fundamental, including an understanding of inferential statistics and their application to institutional research
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Power BI and Tableau
- Familiarity in working with Student Information Systems, preferably Power Campus
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills in planning, executing, and completing tasks
- Advanced knowledge of legislation related to privacy and confidentiality of data, including FOIP
- Service and program evaluation skills
- Experience working in post-secondary institutions
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge acceptable by the College may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Power Campus
- Experience supporting or leading strategic enrollment initiatives
