JOB SUMMARY:
The Instructional Assistant Teacher J1 is an international J1 Trainee who provides support to teachers including implementing instructional programs, assessing student performance and other tasks as needed by the teacher. This is an 18 month position.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Bachelors Degree prefer in Education
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience.
- Prefer to experience working with students with and without disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teachers direction.
- Leads small and whole group of instruction for students.
- Assists teacher in writing lesson plans and Individual Education Plans.
- Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
- Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
- Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
- Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
- Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.
- Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
- Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
- Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
- Attend required training, meetings and events.
- Ensure the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
