Description:

Hackergal has a new and exciting role on our Curriculum Team!!:
The Instructional Designer will provide support and expertise in the development and maintenance of Hackergal’s educational curriculum, which includes engaging learning activities for both classroom-style and web-based courses related to computer science and technology. This role has a bilingual requirement - both French and English.
Salary Range: 60,000-70,000 CAD

Responsibilities:

  • Research and design age-appropriate and detailed training and education curriculum for teachers and students with a focus on coding and digital skills and Canadian women in technology in English & French
  • Research and take initiative in exploring and mastering new technologies and tools to streamline and enhance the creation of curriculum resources
  • Drive innovation in curriculum design by fostering collaborative efforts with team members throughout the curriculum development process
  • Actively collaborate with the Curriculum Manager to co-create and refine project goals while identifying and shaping learning objectives
  • Create engaging and age-appropriate multimedia course content (including videos, quizzes, and lessons), including the incorporation of additional support materials (assessments, guides, lesson plans)
  • Play a key role in documenting and updating standards for designing and developing curriculum resources and keep up to date with new pedagogies and provincial standards in STEAM education across Canada
  • Ensure educational content is diverse, inclusive, and represents varied perspectives to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Design effective and engaging courses and lessons by developing learning objectives, educational content, scripting instructional material, and integrating effective assessment strategies
  • Plan and schedule the creation of multimedia resources to align with the broader curriculum development timeline
  • Maintain accurate and updated project documentation including curriculum development plans, feedback records, and resource materials.
  • Implement an iterative process that involves revising and enhancing educational content based on feedback received from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Employ effective time management strategies to navigate multiple projects with varying timelines while adhering to quality standards even when facing tight deadlines
  • May require some travel from time to time either locally or provincially to support Hackergal key initiatives
  • Other duties may be required
