Description:
The Opportunity
Keyano College is currently seeking two Instructor Aide, University Studies for a part-time position. Reporting to the Associate Dean of University Studies, this position will assist instructor with classroom, laboratory and field trip setup. This position will end on or before June 30, 2026.
Note: This is a part -time role, and the successful candidate will be scheduled 17 hours per week. This is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with facilitating field trips.
- Provide non-instructional in-class support to instructors, as needed.
- Consult Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Aide regarding waste management procedures
and chemical hazard information.
- Participate in set-up and take-down of all laboratory exercises, ensure appropriate labelling of
lab supplies, equipment and waste containment vessels.
- Following laboratory exercises: remove unused reagents, chemical and biological wastes from the laboratory and store or dispose of according to Containment Level II specifications and Occupational Health and Safety Laws.
- In a timely fashion put away all unused laboratory supplies.
- Put out all required reagents, lab supplies, equipment, glassware and waste containment vessels
for University studies, Environmental technology and Academic Upgrading laboratory courses according to operating procedures.
- Assist students on field labs to collect samples (plant, soils, etc)
- Assist instructors in-class on an as-needs basis.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 Year College Diploma in the field of General Science, Environmental Science or Environmental Technology
- Minimum 6 months of laboratory or working as a teaching aide experience preferred

- Bear awareness training
- ATV Rider training
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation is $2,516.45 (CUPE IS5) per month with the following health and benefit package.
