REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in computer programming, software development, web development or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Recent work experience in application development, web development, cloud computing, or DevOps
  • Experience with project documentation and technical writing
  • Experience with multiple stages of the software development life cycle
  • Experience with User Experience and User Interface philosophies and practices
  • Experience with IT Service Management philosophies and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with changes in technology and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience mentoring, leading a team, training or coaching
  • Experience developing courses or training materials
  • Experience in IT Service Delivery
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance delivered courses including on-line
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chair, Application Development and Delivery, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for the Application Development and Delivery program. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are software application development, web development, DevOps, user experience, and cloud computing. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
