Position Title : On Call Early Childhood Educator
Reporting to: Campus Director
Location: 13401 108 Ave, Surrey, BC V3T 5T3
Salary Range: $26-$28/hr

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The On Call Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for:

Establishing and maintaining safe and healthy conditions for children by:

  • Following the safety standards and Educator guidelines set by Tiny Scholars
  • Monitoring the classroom for hazards and take preventative actions, as required
  • Organizing the physical and social environments before activities as set forth by the main Early Childhood Educators
  • Completing housekeeping responsibilities, including cleaning toys and equipment

Provide positive and beneficial guidance to children enrolled at Tiny Scholars:

  • Modeling positive behaviours to impact and build the children’s self-esteem
  • Addressing and redirecting negative actions to promote positive language, self-esteem, and identity
  • Encouraging and assisting each child in caring out daily routines
  • Seeking out opportunities to recognize and celebrate new developmental achievements

Establish and maintain rapport with parents and coworkers:

  • Directing parent/guardian’s questions and concerns to the main Early Childhood Educators
  • Maintaining documentation and keeping record of children’s development and progression, as needed

Maintain a commitment to professionalism and professional development:

  • Assisting with planning and carrying out activities that encourages the children’s self awareness, problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Attending workshops and professional development activities, as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Playschool Director
