Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Hairstylist who is passionate about the industry and passing on their passion through higher learning. This role requires proven ability to provide a “lead by example” presence in the Academy through both industry expertise and professionalism. As the instructor, we require strong organizational, effective planning and time management skills. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for the education of our students but management of the academy clinic floor, clients and models.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to demonstrate experience in
o Customer Service
o Office Administration/Computer Literacy
o Marketing/Social Media Marketing
o Leadership/Management
o Conflict Resolution
o Lesson or Training Development
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
· Must hold a Provincial Hairstyling License through Apprenticeship Manitoba
· Must have completed, is registered in or willingness to take the Teaching For Learning Diploma Program at Red River Polytech
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
· No teaching experience required
· Must be willing to train and develop skills through further education and direct training in house
OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 2 years of active experience in the trade
· Prior graduate from H&Co Academy an asset
· Leadership experience an asset
· Training and Development experience with staff an asset
Responsibilities:
· Organize daily learning and lessons each day based on core learning objectives
· Develop clinic floor business to ensure consistent practice for students
· Develop and maintain relationships with academy clients and models
· Coordinating daily assignments and clinic floor progress with students
· Manage and organize the clinic floor schedule
· Complete all daily opening and closing duties of the academy
· Keep clear, relevant and update records of the students daily activities (Attendance/Customer Service etc)
· Maintain a fair and consistent approach to teaching and leading students to help them understand responsibilities and be accountable to achieving those standards
· Maintain a positive learning environment by respectfully encouraging compliance to the academy expectations
· Communicate and/or fix any maintenance related needs
· Communicate any inventory or product ordering needs for the academy
