Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (5 years) at the command level, involved in offshore oil and gas supply/support operation or the marine transportation industry; possession of a Transport Canada Certificate of Competency at the Master Mariner level, Dynamic Positioning certification as well as ship handling experience, and an undergraduate degree in a relevant area to maritime studies; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Experience operating within polar and ice covered waters is also an asset.
SALARY Commensurate with Marine Institute Instructors’ Collective Agreement (NAPE Local 7405)

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be required to teach or assist in the teaching of various courses offered by the Centre for Marine Simulation. Duties include developing and delivering maritime operations simulation courses and programs; updating existing courses and course materials; providing expertise as part of the Centre’s industrial assistance program; assisting in the conduct of applied research and development projects; assisting with the School of Maritime Studies on line industry courses offered through the University’s Learning Management System and performing other related duties as required.
