GraniteFuel Engineering is a fast-growing Canadian company that provides equipment and service for sustainable energy industry. We design and build innovative renewable natural gas systems for the upgrading of landfill or digester gas to renewable pipeline quality gas. GraniteFuel’s unique fuel conditioning solutions are custom designed for each application to provide consistent and efficient reduction of fuel contaminants.
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Automation Control Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and programming control logics, selection/sizing of equipment and layout of the instrumentation control system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Engineering degree from a recognized university (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or other related);
  2. Very proficient at PLC/HMI programming, network configuration, VFD Configuration;
  3. Minimum 8 years full time programming experience in Canada/USA;
  4. Familiar with oil &gas, water & waste water, air handling processes;
  5. Familiar with Hazardous Classifications;
  6. Hands on skills to install and adjust instrumentations such as solenoid valves, pressure transmitter, thermal couple, flow meter;
  7. Good communication skills to make service schedule, and keep working relationships with customers and contractors;
  8. Proficient in the use of computers: Ms word, Excel, MS office, MMS software;

  • 8 hour shift

Responsibilities:

  1. PLC & HMI programming of Rockwell PLC with RS Logix/FactoryTalk for Gas/Water Processing Systems
  2. Configure VFD, net work switches and other smart equipment/instrumentation;
  3. Size and select motors for pump/compressor/blower;
  4. Select and size instrumentations such as RTD, pressure transmitter, flow meters.
  5. Make wiring diagram and panel layout for low voltage power distribution system; loop diagram and panel layout for PLC/instrumentation control system;
  6. Provide troubleshooting support during equipment construction and testing periods;
  7. Provide technical direction and support to field technicians and electricians during the installation and commissioning phases
  8. Travel internationally (mainly US) to service and commission new and existing systems. Individual must work well independently, as well as in an office / team environment.
  9. Remote monitoring on-site operations
