We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Instrumentation Coordinator. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out operation and will be based in Labrador West, NL requiring candidates to work 8-hour days, 5 days of the week.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of processing facility operations in the Mining industry including maintenance, safety, equipment, and staff utilization. Experience working in an industrial plant or mine setting is desirable
  • Experience in document control systems or Ellipse
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience with the ability to meet deadline

Education:

  • Instrumentation Technology Program
  • Electrical Engineering Technology Program
  • Red Seal Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicia

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Improve plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and improved maintenance procedures
  • Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
  • Ensure commissioning of instrumentation and effectively follow repair and replacement procedures
  • Design, modify and implement changes to existing equipment/process control systems and new equipment/process control systems as assigned.
  • Do weekly plan for Instrumentation work and schedule such work. Work with planning to ensure planned work is scheduled to coincide with other maintenance tasks
  • Play a leading role in ensuring safety, improving operational efficiency and quality, controlling production costs, and protecting the environment at all stages of the equipment life cycle
  • Supervise the Instrumentation Maintenance team and, if required, the Electrical team
  • Other tasks as required
